HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?
My hours are generally 2pm-9pm, but I realize that pain and tension do not necessarily adhere to a set schedule. Send me an email and we'll figure out a time that works, get you scheduled and back to doing what you love!
WHAT IS CUSTOM MASSAGE?
Custom massage is a massage treatment specifically tailored to you and your personal needs.
WHY CUSTOM MASSAGE?
The short answer is "To get the maximum benefits that are available to you through massage therapy."
The longer answer is: One can get a 10 - minute chair massage, a half-hour, hour or even a 90 - minute table massage on an assembly-line basis from any therapist who uses basic techniques that are applicable to most people, and most people will feel better from it. Maybe a little better, maybe quite a bit better, at least for the first few treatments. This initial improvement occurs because many people have tension or accumulated stress that has built up to such an extent that almost any massage at all will help reduce the tension, increase circulation, and make the person feel better. So in the beginning, a "basic" massage produces an improvement in most cases. Once that initial improvement has occurred, how do we continue to bring about further improvement?
My experience with several thousand clients has shown that once that initial surface level of stress or tension is relieved, further massage benefits are absolutely available. In fact some remarkable improvements can occur, but they require a tailored approach. My clients of an athletic caliber, who regularly work out and push their bodies to extremes, require different techniques than those involved in business endeavors, who build up tension in an entirely different way.
And there are differences even WITHIN the classifications. For example, an athlete who practices and competes in gymnastics needs different techniques than one who competes in triathlons. My clients who have office or desk jobs require different methods than those of my clients who surf, but once we reach that initial plateau of improvement, all of my clients – from office workers to surfers, athletes and everyone else - require a more tailored, individual approach to fully realize and maintain the additional improvement which can be obtained.
Each individual will have many different factors in their life which influence their physical well-being and these must be taken into account to provide a really effective course of massage therapy treatment which gets the individual above "bare minimum" and helps him or her stay there. That's what I want to achieve for the people with which I work. And THAT is what "custom massage" is all about.
